Privacy Policy
Effective date: July 2, 2026
Overview
Along Weather (the "App") is developed by Fire Studio. This policy explains how the App collects, uses, and protects your information.
In short: Fire Studio does not operate a server that receives your data. App settings remain on your device, while weather and routing requests go directly from your device to the relevant service provider.
Information We Collect
Location (When In Use)
The App accesses your device's location while you are actively using it, for the following purposes:
- To help you quickly fill in the origin, stop, or destination when setting up a commute or multi-stop trip
- To display real-time weather at your current location on the app's dashboard
Your location is never transmitted to any Fire Studio server. You can revoke this permission at any time in iOS Settings.
Commute and Trip Settings
The commute and multi-stop trip configuration you create (origin/stop/destination coordinates, departure/arrival times, active days, etc.) is stored in a local database on your device and is never uploaded or synced to any server.
Information We Do Not Collect
The App does not require account registration and does not collect your name, email address, phone number, or any other personally identifiable information.
How We Use Your Information
Your commute and trip data is used solely to:
- Query Apple MapKit for directions across multiple travel modes
- Query Apple WeatherKit or QWeather, when selected, for weather forecasts at multiple points along your route
- Schedule local push notifications on your device (notifications are generated on-device and do not pass through Fire Studio's servers)
Weather and routing requests go directly from your device to the relevant service provider. Fire Studio does not receive this data as an intermediary. Apple Weather always remains the fallback weather source.
Third-Party Services
The App uses the following services:
- Apple WeatherKit: Provides weather data. Subject to Apple's Privacy Policy.
- Apple MapKit: Provides mapping and routing data. Subject to Apple's Privacy Policy.
- QWeather: In mainland China, even when Apple Weather is selected, your device may automatically send latitude and longitude rounded to 0.01° directly to QWeather when Apple Weather cannot provide severe-weather alerts; this automatic fallback is used only for alerts. When you select QWeather as the weather source, your device sends coordinates at the same precision for weather, UV, air quality, and severe-weather alerts. These requests do not include route, trip, or place names, account IDs, or device identifiers. Apple Weather remains the fallback for full-weather requests. See the QWeather Privacy Policy and QWeather Developer Service Agreement.
The App does not integrate any third-party analytics or advertising SDK.
Data Storage and Security
- All data is stored locally on your device, protected by iOS device encryption
- Forecast cache is stored in an App Group shared container (shared only between the main app and the widget on your device)
- No cloud sync and no server-side storage by Fire Studio
Children's Privacy
The App is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them.
Deleting Your Data
Uninstalling the App will delete all locally stored data, including commute and trip settings, trip stops, and cached forecasts.
